Fitness Exercise Program: How They Can Reduce the Use of Medicine

A person to be healthy the body needs to keep moving, especially the habit of taking physical exercise. They are not just for people who want to lose weight, but for those who want to stay in shape.
There are many types of exercises that people can do, like play basketball, jog or walk every day with friends. If the person wants to have a lean look, then you can enroll in a gym.

Elderly who exercise on a regular consume an average of 34% less medication than sedentary. The information, new research Unifesp-BRAZIL, reinforces a concept which has added evidence: that exercise can act as drugs, both in preventing some diseases as assisting in the treatment of others.

And, as the drugs also need a prescription. The matter was also one of the highlights of the 22nd Brazilian Congress of Exercises Medicine and Sports.
The study by UNIFESP, in partnership with the Center for Studies and Physical Fitness Laboratory of São Caetano do Sul), followed 271 women over 60 years, many with chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension.

Active were considered those who practiced more than 150 minutes of physical activity per week. The considered sedentary were not more than ten minutes.

The study shows that physical activity may be doing somewhat the role of medicine. Research shows that in elderly patients with chronic disease consumes between four and five medications a day.
The sedentary has five times more likely to have hypertension. It is known that physically active people have less risk of heart disease like heart failure, and diabetes and respiratory diseases.
Studies show that when the person already has a chronic illness, exercise can go reducing disease progression and the use of medicines.

EXACT PRESCRIPTION

The type and amount of exercises are prescribed depending on the patient's profile and goal. Would do no good to hear a generic "you need to exercise." If the quantity is too low, no effect.
If it is excessive, there is risk of side effects like muscle injuries, joint and even sudden death.

That means that a program to lose weight is very different for those who need to control blood pressure.
